Reid Street Community Stage
The hub of the Wangaratta Jazz Festival's free entertainment is the Reid St Community Stage, sponsored by the Rural City of Wangaratta. This street In the heart of the CBD is converted into a food, wine, and entertainment mall for the weekend. The stage features free music acts from 10 o'clock in the morning and well into the evening, and patrons can sit and relax and enjoy a snack with a glass of local wine from one of the area's many superb vineyards.

Launch of extempore Issue 5

It's becoming a tradition - Wangaratta Jazz will once again host the launch of a new issue of extempore, Australia's unique journal of writing and art inspired by jazz and improvised music. Issue 5 includes interviews with John Rodgers, Adrian Sherriff and Erik Griswold, fiction by John Shand and Pierz Newton-John, and poems from the winners of the 2010 National Jazz Writing Competition. A change of venue this year - we've moved from St Pats to the Wangaratta library in Docker Street. The venue may have changed, but what remains the same is that you'll get to hear some poetry and prose, share some refreshments and be part of our celebration as we send Issue 5 out in to the world.
